The Association of African American Financial Advisors (AAAA) welcomes qualified individuals in several categories: Advisory, Affiliate, and Student Membership. Membership enables you to participate in several AAAA member-only activities, educational opportunities, networking, and recognition of your status as an experienced or emerging financial advisory professional.

Advisory Level Membership
- Eligible candidates include those who hold or have obtained:
- FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Series 6, 7, 9 & 10
- National Commodities Futures (NFA) Series 3
- Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) Series 63, 65 or Series 66
- Recognized Advanced Degrees or Advanced Certifications:
- MBA
- Ph. D.
- Ed. D.
- CFP® (Certified Financial Planner)
- ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant)
- PFS (Personal Financial Specialist)
- CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst)
- MFP® (Master Financial Planner)
- Potential members must be engaged in financial advisory or wealth management activities with a significant focus.
- Should maintain substantial contact with individual financial or wealth advisory clients.
Membership approval is subject to the recommendation of the Membership Committee and a vote by the Board of Directors. Currently, only Advisory Members are eligible to be listed in the AAAA Consumer Financial Planning Directory.
Affiliate Level Membership
- Should have direct involvement in financial planning and/or wealth management activities or employment in financial services, tax, or a legal firm.
- Ideal for individuals who do not meet the requirements for Advisory Membership or choose not to be listed in the AAAA Consumer Financial Planning Directory.
- Benefits include:
- Access to AAAA’s extensive resources, including educational materials, industry research, and publications.
- Networking opportunities with professionals in the financial planning and wealth management field.
- Participation in AAAA events, conferences, and seminars.
- Recognition and affiliation within the AAAA community.
- Support and collaboration opportunities with fellow members.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development through knowledge exchange and engagement.
Subject to the recommendation of the Membership Committee and a vote by the Board of Directors.
Student Level Membership
About this Membership Level:
- For individuals who are enrolled as full-time students in an undergraduate program at an institution of higher learning or pursuing a master’s degree in Planning, Business, Finance, Law, Tax, or Accounting.
- Must provide proof of enrollment when filling out the forms.
- Must be 26 or younger
- Benefits include:
- Access to valuable resources and information relevant to financial planning, finance, law, tax, and accounting.
- Networking opportunities with industry professionals and fellow student members.
- Participation in AAAA events, conferences, and seminars.
- Reduced annual dues rate, set at 50% of the Affiliate Member dues until completion of the undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Transition pathway to professional membership categories (Advisory or Affiliate Membership) upon completion of the undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Continued support and guidance from the AAAA community during the educational and professional journey.
* Please note that upon completing their undergraduate or graduate degrees, Student Members are required to reapply for membership under the appropriate guidelines for either Advisory or Affiliate Membership.
